How do you know when you need help?
The following is a list of warning signs that when present in a child or adolescent could be an indicator of mental health problem and seeking professional support would be a helpful next step:
Withdrawal from family, friends and normal activity
Changes in peer group (unrelated to moving, etc.)
Neglect of personal appearance
Excessive change in weight
Running away
Violent or Rebellious behavior
Physical symptoms with no apparent illness
Drug and/or alcohol abuse
Hearing or seeing things that are not there
Preoccupation with themes of death
